What is Coding?
Coding, or computer programming is a process programmers perform to tell a computer how to perform a task. Our courses involve kids creating code using visual drag and drop programming languages. This process is both educational and entertaining, where they work on different projects instilling their own creative input.
What will my child learn from Coding and benefits of learning coding?
Studies have shown that learning Coding or computer programming at a young age sets up your child for a lifetime of success, in any modern industry they may wish to pursue in the future. Most schools do not currently offer coding classes, so it is a great opportunity for your child to get a head start on their peers, since computer related professions make up over 60% of projected new job positions in any field, and also are the highest paid.
Coding not only provides your child the opportunity to learing programming, but it opens their mind to critical thinking and problem solving. This critical thinking and problem solving influences a child’s brain as it continues to develop and thereby creating a solid foundation for their future.
Are your online courses live or self-paced?
Our online courses are self paced. So students can take their time to work on their projects and not feel rushed. Students will be able to watch our video lessons, pause the video, code what they learned from the video lesson, go back to video lessons, and continue working on their project being as creative as they please. The average time to complete each course varies, and will depend on child’s pace and our course’s difficulty.
Our instructors are available if students run into problems or have any questions. Once student believes they have finished with their project, they can proceed to the next class.
Are your classes for beginners and kids with no coding experience?
Our classes are designed for kids ages 6 through 12 years old. Our classes start at the beginner level to intermediate level for those who have not done coding before and also as a refresher for those who have little experience with coding. As our classes progress, each subsequent class gets more difficult. Our instructors are there to help the kids each step of the way if they need additional assistance.
What is the age of child are your classes for?
Our classes are recommended for children ages 6 thru 12 years old. Our classes are fun and can also be challenging for some kids over 12 years old who have never done coding previously.
If I have 2 kids, would I need to pay for both of them to learn from the course?
Yes, all kids work independentaly. Each child will be assigned their own work space to work on their project. Two students will not be able to share a space. Our policy is one student per subscription, our instructors track your child’s progress so if more than 1 child is seen sharing a subscription that account will automatically be cancelled.
What type of support do you offer if my child needs help, and what are your support days and times?
Whether students require set up assistance, have a question, or need support, our support team will be here to assist you. If you need help, whether a technical issue, question, or class assignment help, send us an email at support@kidsfuncoding.com. Registered students will receive an email link for LIVE video help if required with our instructors. Our support days and times are Monday thru Friday from 9am to 7pm Eastern Standard Time.
Are your instructors skilled?
Our team instructors consist of skilled teachers, computer programmers, and game developers. They are very skilled in our courses and make learning fun and engaging, and will help you all steps of the way.
What technology is required for your classes?
Students will need a computer with keyboard, mouse, speaker and microphone for our classes. Computers must have a web browser installed such as Explorer, Chrome, Firefox or Safari, and a good internet connection. If students want to use our video conferencing help option then a camera on their computer will be required.
Students are also able to view their Class Projects using Virtual Reality Headsets. This is an option and not a requirement for our classes. If students wish to view their projects in Virtual Reality they can use a Virtual Reality Headset which will require a smartphone. Virtual Reality Headsets, are available for purchase in our online store.
What course do students start with?
All students start with the first course as indicated on our website. After completion of that class they move on to the next class as indicated in the sequence. (Example: Class 1, Class 2, Class 3, etc..). Returning students continue to the next class where they left off previously.
What happens after I purchase a class online?
After a class is purchased, you will receive a welcome email with class and login information within 24hrs after purchase during business hours Monday thru Friday.
How are students able to view their projects using Virtual Reality goggles?
While not a requirement for our classes, students are able to view their work using Virtual Reality Headsets. Students will be provided instructions on viewing their work using these headsets after purchase of our classes. The Virtual Reality headsets recommended will be either the Oculus Go or a Virtual Reality Goggle Headset that requires a cellular phone.
Cancellation Policy
While we hope this does not happen because all our classes are fun, challenging, educational and creative, if you do choose to cancel, we must be notified by the 3rd day of the initial payment of our classes, or the 3rd day of the automatic payment for any auto-renewal subscription to be eligible for any refund within that month. Requests for cancellation need to be sent via email to info@kidsfuncoding.com.
Billing Information
Customers will be automatically billed $12.99 monthly for recurring classes if you choose this option. Customers can cancel or pause at anytime. When you purchase our classes, you agree to our monthly billing subscription. Every month you will be billed for renewed subscriptions and/or new classes on the same terms purchased until you cancel your auto-renewal. You may cancel the auto-renewal of your subscription at any time by contacting us via email at support@kidsfuncoding.com. All prices are in US dollars.
How does the monthly subscription work?
Customers who choose monthly subscription will receive a new class monthly when they are automatically billed. You will receive the classes in sequence from Class 1 to Class 2, Class 3 etc.. through Class 12. Customers who do the 12 Class Purchase will receive all the classes at once.
How do I become a Class Member?
To become a class member you will need to purchase either our monthly subscription or 12 class purchase.
